Easter Eggs!!!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Betts' for a visit yesterday. Grandma Betts is such a great Grandma. She saved all the dye and some eggs for Maggie to color. We made a mess of her kitchen, but got some great pictures.
Taste Test.

Things are going well.

Green eggs and....hand?

Things are getting out of control.

mmmmm.....vinegar....

Vinegar makes you thirsty. I love her fat little green hands.

After a bath, and a full day of playing at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was a quiet drive home.

All in a Day's Work

I took these pictures all in one day. I think they are pretty funny!

Our poor little girl can't catch a break. She has gone from an ear infection to cutting 3 teeth all in 2 weeks. I took this picture when she first got out of bed and Yes, her face is covered in crusty snot.
The only way to get snot out of hair is to have a fun bath.

Maggie likes to shake her bottle. Getting covered with milk doesn't bother her at all, silly girl. There will be another bath in the morning.

Yay for Grandparents and Yay for Hotel Pools

This past weekend my parents have been in Utah to attend a mission reunion and General Conference. It has been wonderful to have them here. Maggie has been spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa Evanson. It makes me sad that she doesn't get to spend more time with them. I was so lucky as a child to have both sets of Grandparents very close by. My Grandma and Grandpa Evanson lived across the street and Grandma and Grandpa Tanner lived 2 miles away. Maggie does get a chance to see Grandma and Grandpa Betts at least once a month, but that still doesn’t seem like enough. In my perfect world, we would all live in the same little town and see each other at least every other day, I'll keep dreaming.

The weekend was spent eating, shopping, swimming and just hanging out, oh, did I mention EATING. We went out to eat every night including my favorite place, Tucanos. I believe it is now on the list of my Parents favorites, too.

The hotel pool was so much fun. The water was warm and Maggie absolutely loved it. I don't think that I have ever seen her so content for so long. It was fun to watch her bob around in the floating frog and play with Grandma and Grandpa.

Still happy even though she was getting very sleepy

Relaxing in the hotel room with Grandma and Grandpa.

Who's her Daddy?

I think that Maggie has looked like Dave since the day she was born. Her cheeks, lips, and big blue eyes are all from him. The other day I came into the front room where Maggie was playing. She was sitting there, all by herself, looking at a book. She had pulled it off the shelf and was flipping the pages.

I was so excited. Dave and I have tried and tried to do 'reading time' with her, she has always been more interested in 'licking' and 'eating' the book. I was just hoping that she would grow out of it before kindergarten. I was lucky enough to have the camera close by to capture this momentous occasion. As soon as I took the picture I knew I had seen it before. I opened up Dave's baby book and there it was....No paternity test needed here.

nostalgia

Our little girl has been in our lives for 1 full year. In some ways it's hard to believe that it's already been that long, but in other ways it's hard to believe that we have only known her for 1 year. She is such a huge part of our lives, everything seems to revolve around her. I can hardly remember what life was like when I didn't have to think about nap-time, feeding time, changing time, bath time...blah, blah, blah. She isn't the most mellow kid, she has a mind of her own and lets me know if things are not perfect in her world, but boy, can she make me laugh. She gets in silly moods and makes the funniest noises with her mouth, I know she is just trying to make us laugh, and I love it. I love my little 1 year old. It's not been the easiest year, I had to have a pretty big surgery when Maggie was just 8 weeks old, it took me almost 3 months to feel normal. Maggie has only been sleeping through the night for 2 weeks, and she doesn't like to nap. I gave up on having her on any sort of a schedule when she was 6 months old, I was getting too frustrated and decided that I needed to enjoy my little girl, like I said, she has a mind of her own. I still love being a Mom. I'm excited and nervous about having another girl in July, I'm hoping her 1st year will be just as great, maybe this next baby will sleep more, I'm not counting on it.
Maggie's Stats at 1 year:
Weight: 22 lbs
Height: 28 inches
Favorite Foods: Blueberries, Cheese, Mandarin oranges
Favorite Movie: Signing Time (she seriously loves it)
Favorite Activities: Going for walks and Bath time
Favorite Toy: Her giant stuffed Dog
First Word: Dadda
First Sign: Dog
# of Teeth: 7 (4 on top, 3 on bottom)
